First Week..

Is Complete!

I finished my first week of working out. I made it to the gym 5 days this week, 3 of which I did the Couch to 5k program! :)
I tried out 2 different podcasts. The first one was Robert Ullrey's. His style is more Techno/dance music. Not really my style, but I went with it on Monday. It was a great run and I felt great afterwards.

The second podcast was off of a blog at the address of www.kissmyblackass.org. Now that one was a bit more my style music wise..BUT a HUGE downfall to this podcast was the lack of timing. The lady doing the podcast was all over the place with telling me when to run. I decided to start running when I was supposed to, and she would finally tell me 20 seconds into my run to start running. At one point I was finishing my run and she was just telling me to start.

This next week, I think I'll try Ullrey's 2nd week podcast and see if maybe the music changes a little. I may try the other podcast once to see if she got better onthe second one, but if not, I'll either just stick with Ullrey's podcast, or put together a list of songs to run to and have a little cheat sheet with me telling me when to start running and when to start walking (minute wise). I don't think I could deal with the second podcast for too long. She is just not organized enough to do cut it.

Now on to my shoes. I absolutely LOVE them....now. Monday night, not so much. I got off the treadmill and it felt like I had a huge blister on the side of my foot up by the ball of my foot. I did the bike for 30 mins after the treadmill which was easier on the foot/blister, and when I got home, I took off the shoe and looked inside. The inner sole was put in crooked. BLAST! So I decided to stop by Dick's on the way to the gym on Tuesday night to switch them out. Tues at lunch I decided to call them, and it's a good thing I did! It's a brand new shoe that they only received one of each size! They called over to the Castleton store and they had a pair. I decided I didn't want to drive that area after work (It's freakin crazy crowded) so I took off on my lunch break and picked up the new shoes. They feel great now!! :) I'm ver happy with them.

On to a different topic, yesterday I sat in a "virtual waiting room" to get tickets to Cubs games!! It's Baseball season everyone!! (Well spring training...but Home Openner is right around the corner!) It was SO frustrating. At one point I asked Kathy (my supervisor) to jump on as well to see if she got in before me...She did. SERIOUSLY? They need to work on their system because she logged in 2 hours after me and got in before me. Then, in my haste I clicked on April 17th instead of the actual game I wanted (Sept 17th) and lost my turn. UGH. So I went back to waiting mode. About an hour later my "waiting room" froze up. Yelling at the computer (while someone was in here to get a dog pass..haha poor guy) I clicked out, only to click back in and it took me straight to get tickets. A "You've got to be freakin kidding me" came out of my mouth. The guy just looked at me crazy, to which I responded "Cubs tickets". A smile came over his face and he goes "Yeah...My son does that too". HA. So after 4+hours of a virtual waiting room, Joe and I now have tickets to the Cubs/Brewers game on 9/17 (Happy Birthday to me!) and thanks to John, we also have tickets to Cubs/Cards on 7/11. YAY!

Nothing new on the home front. Still waiting for the house in Warsaw to sell. Only time will tell when we actually get to move on and "start our life" down here in Indy.

That's all for now!
